Featured in Cowboys & Indians Magazine
“The Art of Horse Sense: Liz Comer Hess’ Equestrian Expression”
I’m thrilled to share that my work was recently featured in the April issue of Cowboys & Indians magazine — a publication that celebrates Western culture, craftsmanship, and the people who live it.
The article, titled “The Art of Horse Sense: Liz Comer Hess’ Equestrian Expression,” explores how my life with horses and my art practice have become inseparable as two languages that mirror and inform each other.
The feature highlights several of my recent paintings, including Expression and Bucking Horse I & II , both works that aim to capture energy and the emotion behind the movement
It also touches on my horse, Sam a Trakehner/Thoroughbred who keeps me honest and curious each day, and how time in the barn continues to influence my studio practice.
Being featured by Cowboys & Indians is incredibly meaningful to me. It feels like a full-circle moment honoring my Western roots while celebrating where art and sport meet.
I have always been a student of the sport and of the canvas. To have that intersection recognized in a publication that understands both worlds means a great deal.
Thank you
To everyone who has followed my work, visited my studio, or cheered me on along the way — thank you. Every kind word, purchase, and conversation keeps this journey moving forward.
